Six Police Officers Promoted
Six Whitpain police officers were promoted at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
Bill Armstrong, a long-time Whitpain officer who was hired in 1988, was promoted to deputy chief. In this temporary position, Armstrong will help oversee the department and the new lieutenants, which will help with succession planning.
Officers Frank Franco and Brian Sweisfurth were both promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Officers Bianca Vuotto, Brian Daly, and Ivan Kosty were promoted to sergeant.
“The men and women who were promoted this evening have demonstrated their ability over many years of police work with the Township,” said Chief Ken Lawson. “As part of our promotion process, the sergeants and lieutenants completed a rigorous screening process which included independent testing and evaluation by an outside testing agency.”
Best of luck to the officers in their new roles.
