Ron Cione, Whitpain’s long-time Public Works Director called it a career after 34 years of dedicated service.
Since Ron was hired back in 1984, the Township has grown from 37 miles of roadways to nearly 70 miles of roadways. As our road system expanded, Ron prided himself and his department for their ability to quickly clear our roads when winter weather passed through the area and to maintain these roads with cost-effective resurfacing methods in the summer months.
The park system also expanded as Wentz Run Park, Stony Creek Sports Park, Prophecy Creek Park, and Centre Square Park were all created during his tenure. Providing top notch maintenance to the fields and playground equipment was also another top priority for Ron.
