The Sewer Division maintains roughly
100 miles of underground sanitary sewers and five pumping stations. This maintenance includes:
scheduled cleaning and televising of sewer mains
manhole rehabilitation
pump station maintenance
root control in sewer mains
clearing blockages in sewer mains
clearing sewer easements
grease trap inspections on commercial establishments
It is important to note that sump pumps MAY NOT be connected to the sanitary sewer system.
Problems with blockages should be directed to the sewer division at (610) 277-2400. After regular hours, calls should be placed to the Whitpain Township Police Department at (610) 279-9033; who will notify on-call staff to respond.
