Mark A. Smith - Chief of Police

The Whitpain Township Police Department is committed to providing protection and services within the Township on a twenty-four hour-a-day basis with a strong emphasis on community awareness. The quality of police service is often judged by the response of the police. It is more dependant on the police working with the community in a method that provides effective and efficient policing. “To Protect and Serve” is the Police Department’s goal, not just the Police Department’s motto.

The Whitpain Township Police Department presents Drug Abuse, Anti-Gang and Violence Education Programs at our schools. The primary emphasis of the program is to assist students in recognizing and resisting the pressures that influence them to experiment with drugs and/or gangs. The program is entitled D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
