Throughout the year the Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a variety of activities and services to the community. In order to provide the best possible programs, we will, from time to time, seek qualified individuals to work on a part-time basis. If there is anything from the list below that you feel you would be qualified to apply for, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (610) 277-2400 or come to the Township Administration Building during normal business hours to pick up an Employment Application.

Regular Meeting: The meeting was
called to order at 8:05 p.m.
Kurt Baker advised that the 2007 summer
camp program was well attended this year as was the movie presentation at
Wentz Run Park. Both activities were assessed to be great successes.
He also advised that on 9-18-2007, a
presentation will be made to the the Township supervisors of the
Prophecy Creek Master Plan. This plan outlines the developmental phased
envisioned over the next series of years, and Baker encouraged the Park
and Recreation Board members to attend. A map was provided to each board
member depicting the conceptual plan.
Baker advised that the Township
Supervisors authorized the formation of a Whitpain Township Trail
Committee to examine the feasibility of a township wide trail plan, to
gather information from consulting firms, and on securing funding.
The Stony Creek Sports Park on North
Wales road is used extensively by the residence. The township plans for
this facility includes turning the rink into a basketball court, and
paving the parking lot.
Baker advised that the Harvest Festival
will be on October 13, 2007, with a rain date of October 14th. This year
the township will use Event Experts Company to provide the midway and
booths, and stated that volunteers are needed for this event between the
hours of 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
