Mechanical Code

The Mechanical Code adopted by the Board of Supervisors is the PA.UCC. The UCC adopted the 2006 International Mechanical code, first edition. The Mechanical Code adopted for one and two family detached and attached dwellings and their accessory structure is the 2006 International Residential Code, first edition. Chapter 12 through Chapter 24 inclusive. The ordinance adopting these regulations may be found in Chapter 71 of the Code of the Township of Whitpain.

Mechanical Permit Applications including instructions for submission of these applications may be downloaded from the Forms, Applications and Permits page of this site. Mechanical Permit Fees will not be accepted at the time of application. Fees are only accepted at the issuance of the permit.

The average time limit for permit processing is the same as that noted for building permits.

Plumbing Code

The Plumbing Code adopted by the Board of Supervisors is the PA.UCC. The UCC adopted the 2006 International Plumbing Code, first edition. The plumbing code adopted for one and two family detached and attached dwellings and their accessory structures is the 2006 International Residential Code, first edition, chapter 25 through chapter 32. The ordinance may be viewed by accessing Chapter 116 of The Code of the Township of Whitpain.

Applications for plumbing and lateral permits including instructions for submission of these applications may be downloaded from the Forms, Applications and Permits page of this site.  Plumbing permit fees will not be accepted at the time of application. Fees will only be accepted at the time of issuance of the permit. The time limit for permit processing is the same as that noted for building permits.
