| The fire protection codes adopted by the Board of Supervisors are those National Fire Protection Association Pamphlets noted in the
2006 International Building Code, first edition, chapters 9, and 35. This code regulates all fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, standpipes, range hood extinguishing systems, automatic fire detection systems, fire extinguishers, smoke control systems, smoke detectors, smoke and heat vents and the supervision of these systems.
Fire protection and fire alarm permits are required for new installations of systems noted above or for alterations to those systems. Applications for fire protection permits may be downloaded from this site.
