Whitpain
Township
is honored to have Ambulance –
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provided by the Second Alarmers
Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, PA.
After an 18 month review of EMS services
for Whitpain Township, the Board of Supervisors had chosen the Second
Alarmers to be Whitpain Township's sole EMS provider starting Tuesday,
January 2, 2007. The Second Alarmers was Chartered in 1938 and started as a canteen
service for fire and police personnel.
Since that time they have grown to be one of the largest
EMS
providers in
Montgomery
County
.
The Second Alarmers protect, Four
Townships and three Boroughs that encompasses about 65 Square Miles and
includes 15 Miles of the PA Turnpike. Second Alarmers handles nearly
12,000 - 911 Calls a Year for emergency service from 5 fixed locations and
with the following fleet of state of the art equipment.
- 13 Paramedic Ambulances
- 4 Are Four Wheel Drive
- 2 Utility/Special Service Vehicles
- Heavy Rescue Truck
- EMS Bike Team
- 6 Bicycles
- Chief's Vehicle
- Deputy Chief's Vehicle
- 2 Duty Officer Vehicle
- Marine Unit
- Mass Casualty Tent and Trailer
- Administrative Car
The Second Alarmers
have a temporary station set up on the grounds of the Township Building
located at 960 Wentz Road. The township asks all
of our residents and business to support the Second Alarmers when you
receive your annual donation request. We would
